Rihanna Maza (11) after winning Prom Princess
On April 26th, 2025, the Boulder Creek Golf Course hosted one of the most anticipated events of every high schoolers career, Prom. This dance, planned entirely by the Junior Class Student Council, was widely successful! Junior Class President Drew Schaper comments, “Student Council’s class of 2026 planned the “Prom in the City of Stars” this year. It’s a theme we’ve never done before at BCHS, and we had some much fun coming up with new ideas and executing this theme. We thought it was a hit and we hope everyone had fun!” As well as this the clubhouse was decorated in beautiful decorations and photo spots to fit the City of Stars theme. The theme being inspired by the popular movie “La La Land”, which coincidentally gives Boulder City a special shoutout.
Once the clock hit 6 pm that Saturday Night, the line was out the door with upperclassmen excited to experience a dance to remember. Once checked in, the dance floor was immediately filled with different colored dresses and suits dancing the night away. The DJ played some fire songs like “Get Low” and “Fireball”. Along with the dancing, the Boulder Creek Golf Course Staff provided an amazing dinner consisting of chicken, pasta, salad, mashed potatoes and dinner rolls. Which was once again, a hit among the high schoolers, many boasting about the meal and some even getting seconds.
After a night full of dancing and photo ops, it was finally time to find out who won the titles of Prom Prince and Princess, and Prom King and Queen. Senior Eden Gomez, who won Prom Princess the year previous was in charge of crowning those who won this title. After a suspenseful minute or so the winner was announced! The Prom Prince and Princess’ were Benno Kossel and Rihanna Maza, and the Prom King and Queen were Devin Barrow and Emily Olson.
“Prom was a spectacular night! It was fun to see everybody from every friend group come together under one roof to have a good time,” Junior David Zwhalen comments. Prom was definitely a night to remember and filled with amazing memories that’ll last a lifetime. Many cannot wait until the event comes again next year.
