Ms. Ebert, the new superintendent
After almost a year with no Superintendent in Clark County School District, the Board Of School Trustees selected Jhone Ebert to step into the position. Ebert has worked 30 years in K-12 education, and was most recently the Superintendent of Public Instruction in Nevada where she oversaw the academic success of almost 500,000 students across 17 different school districts.
Throughout her time working in education she has led many initiatives to strengthen the public education system in Nevada. These initiatives involved ensuring a more equitable distribution of resources for students in the state, expanding CTE programs, and increasing students’ access to hands-on learning.
Ebert started on April 14th, 2025 and is hoping to ensure that all students have access to a proper education. During her first week on the job she visited a few schools where she got to talk to students and teachers as she toured their campus. With CCSD being the 5th largest school district in the country she is stepping up to be a voice for all that attend school in Clark County.
Some of Superintendent Ebert’s plans include, addressing staffing at schools with the most needs, making sure the needs of all schools are seen and met, and bringing the community to be more involved with schools. There are also opportunities to establish an open door for teachers, parents, students, businesses, unions, and politicians throughout the district.
Being an extremely large school district with many needs that must be met, being the superintendent is a big position to fill. With about 378 schools counting on strong leadership, Superintendent Ebert and her many years of experience will be just the leader the district needs!
