This year there are high expectations for the BCHS marching band! They are doing many performances this year that you should look forward to. One of these performances is the highly anticipated music from the movie Godzilla. No, not the Eminem song! The band has been practicing to perfect this theme song and everyone should be ready to hear it. The marching band is really busy this year racking up 15 performances across assemblies, football games and competitions!
The marching band practices their music everyday and marches every Tuesday night from 3pm-8pm. The marching band is unique because not only do they have to memorize songs but they have to march while doing it, hence the name marching band!
Marching band and colorguard member Qloiana Skousen said “Marching band doesn’t interfere with sports and other afterschool activities. I can play sports while representing the marching band.” She is also in colorguard with Director Mrs. Strachan. She also talked about how it is encouraged by Director, Dr. Holly. He has VERY high expectations for this year and expects excellence.
The marching band is led by drum major Xochitl Skousen and director, Dr. Holly. They perform after every football game so make sure to stick around! We can’t wait for you to experience the unique sound and energy of marching band. Stay tuned for an unforgettable musical journey!
