Big changes are coming to Boulder City High School, with the inspiring girls basketball coach, Brian Bradshaw taking on the role of school counselor. Known for his dedication on the court, he is ready to bring his motivational skills and supportive personality to the counseling office. He will be working alongside our other counselor, Mrs. Cox, to offer guidance and support to all of the students of BCHS. While Mrs. Cox is the designated counselor of the current freshman and junior classes, Mr. Bradshaw will be the counselor for all current Sophomores and Seniors.
Although we are halfway through the school year, Mr. Bradshaw is excited to be filling the position of one of BCHS’ school counselors. To show his excitement towards becoming our new counselor, Mr. Bradshaw states, “I’m very excited about having the opportunity to work as a school counselor at BCHS. I feel like I already have a connection with students because I’m a coach, and now, I can work in one school and mentor high school students, which is a passion of mine.” Before becoming our girls basketball coach, he has been a school counselor for both middle school and elementary school, a principal, and a coach for multiple high school sports. I can definitely be trusted and my door will always be open for you. He believes he is a reliable source for all students. To convey his reliability, he expresses: “ You will find me working hard to guide students and help them work through their problems and make good college and career choices.”
In his spare time, Mr. Bradshaw enjoys not only coaching sports, but he enjoys playing them as well. He loves to garden, and says that he has a “green thumb” for it since he grew up on a farm with a family that adopted him and his twin. He loves to be with his family, including his two step children Malley, and Max Jobin, and his two older sons who are graduating college in the midwest. His favorite activity to do with his family is visiting the beach in Bonita Springs. Lastly, he loves to watch baseball, with his all time favorite team being the St. Louis Cardinals.
Mr. Bradshaw’s firing passion for working with students makes him such an amazing fit for our new counselor. His dedication towards helping students succeed both on and off the BCHS court, will greatly benefit our students. His advice to all of our Eagles is to: “.. set goals and challenge yourself to do your very best. Enjoy your high school years and be involved.” Sophomores and Seniors, whether you see Mr. Bradshaw out on the sidelines, in the hallways, or in his office, make sure to introduce yourself!
