From putting in the hard work on the sidelines, to giving it their all in every assembly, the Boulder City High School Cheer Team performed at a competition on February 28, Knott’s Berry Farm. The team has dedicated their year towards this moment, working endless hours to improve their stunts, tumbling, and cleans.
Together, the whole team has committed to extra hours before and after school to excel and grow together. All of their hard work built up to this final moment for them, which led them to success, with an outstanding second place win for the entire team! They also came home with a big first place win for a stunt called, “all girl stunt,” performed by Xochitl Skousen (12), Ashley Rodriguez (12), Kira Gardner (12), Sadie Hensala (10), and Abby Cracolicci (12). The competition was fierce, against many schools from across California, bringing their energetic routines to the competition. Despite the high competition, the cheer team rose above, and ultimately brought home the big win.
Not only was the cheer team giving it their all on the mat, but they were having fun at Knotts Berry Farm! The team was able to grow even closer by enjoying their time in the park! Freshman Qloiana Skousen conveys her favorite parts of the trip, she exclaims: “Not only am I proud of how well our team performed, I am proud of how close we have gotten as a team. One of my favorite parts of the trip was being able to have fun with my team outside of practice. We were able to ride some roller coasters together, walk around, and goof off all together.”
The cheer team’s big success in Knotts Berry Farm excites the whole team to start a new season over the upcoming summer. Congratulations to the BCHS cheer team on their incredible performances and a well-earned second place finish!
