Formula One, better known as F1, is the highest class of international racing for open-wheel single-seater formula racing cars. The average speed of these cars is around 200 mph.
Formula One came to Las Vegas for the first time since 1982 holding the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Formula One now has a contract and will be returning to Las Vegas for the next 10 years. The 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix had an attendance of around 315,000 people.
The winner of the 2023 Grand Prix in Las Vegas was Max Verstappen. Max Verstappen had some complaints about the Las Vegas Grand Prix. He said the event was “99% show and 1% sporting event”.
Locals also have some complaints about the event. Creating the track and expanding roads to be able to withstand that amount of people created a lot of construction on the freeways and streets causing tons of traffic. Small businesses in the area were also losing a lot of money due to the construction and road work that was done to prepare for the road traffic of all of the tourists coming into the valley for the F1 races and to build the track for the race itself.
Even with the complaints, F1 will be back in the Las Vegas valley from November 21 through November 23. The race will have 22 drivers and is a 50 lap circuit around the Las Vegas Strip.
