As the weather starts to shift, and the wind starts to blow, that’s when you know it’s time for the holiday lights. Here in Boulder City we have a couple events to start the holiday season, the annual Tree Lighting and the 5th Street House Lighting.
To give a little background on these two events, Boulder City has been doing the Tree Lighting for over 3 decades. As for the house lighting, they started in 2003 and have been doing it ever since. This year will be the 21st year they are doing it. The house of lights has also been on the Great Christmas Light Fight on ABC and they were the winners in 2016.
Around 5:00 pm, people tend to go to the house of lights on 5th street before The Tree Lighting. People get to walk through the driveway and see all of the different decorations set up in a tedious way. There’s fun holiday music and it gives a wonderland feeling while walking through.
The Tree Lighting will happen on December 1st as well, but it starts at 6pm. There’s music and a countdown for when it’s time for the tree to be lit up. All of Boulder City loves these annual events and are excited to experience them this winter!
