The Boulder City High School swim teams has started their season off with a splash! Coach Carroll, the high achieving BCHS swim coach, is aiming for a 12th state title between both the Women’s and Men’s swim team and so far they may accomplish that goal.
The boy’s team has 3 state titles under their belt while the girl’s team has 8 state titles. In swimming, there are many races and events you can compete in; some of the most popular being the 50 free/back, 100 free/back, 250 free/back, and the 500 free swim.
Boulder City is historically amazing at swim, this year Coach Carroll wants to continue this history with the 200 and 400 relays.
Freshman BCHS swimmer Lyla Gunson said, “ Our best chance at winning is our top competitors doing what they do.” When asked to name a top competitor from both the girls and boys team she said, “Duncan McClaren and his sister Zoey are definitely going to help BCHS reach more titles, so I would consider them the top two.”
The BCHS Swim Team works hard and is successful because of that work. They have incredible team spirit and are a great part of BCHS. When you doubt the BCHS swim team, make sure you count those state titles first!
