This past Saturday, the BCHS Eagles came to school and transformed the parking lot into a canvas full of vibrant colors. There was a wide variety of themes, colors, and designs. It was again the time of year for the Seniors to decorate their parking spots!
There were exciting things painted such as checkers or bananas, but there are also some who’s spots show passions. A few of the parking spaces have football fields or even things that have a sentimental and more of a loving meaning to them.
Xochitl Skousen and Eden Gomez both have parking spaces that have a meaning and represent their childhoods. Ever since Xochitl started school, at the end of each year, the teacher signed and wrote something about having her in their class in her “Oh the Places You’ll Go” book by Dr. Seuss. Xochitl’s parking spot is painted to perfection while looking almost identical to the cover of the book! Eden’s parking spot also relates to her childhood but in a different way. Eden’s parking spot is Snoopy from Charlie Brown. She liked to watch it when she was a kid because she thought it was funny. Gomez felt a relation to him because of her experience being “popular” but not feeling like she was very good or the best at everything.
Abby Francis participated in and helped plan the whole thing along with so many other people. The planning of this event took a lot of effort. The information given, sold, and thought through really made this awesome event happen. She says that she thinks it was successful, only there were a few less spots sold then the past year. Although not all available spots were sold, Abby said that she saw everyone having a grand time while participating in painting their own parking spots.
Barb Agostini, the seniors event cooperator, was the one who helped put everything together. She also explained that there were many family members of the seniors that came to help with everything. As the festivities came to an end, the sound of laughter and music filled the surroundings, creating joyful memories and experiences for the senior’s last year of high school.
