Here at Boulder City High School during the winter time, we dedicate a week and a half to a school tradition called the 12 days of Kindness. During these days all students are encouraged to participate. The 12 days of Kindness this year will be December 2nd through December 17th.
To kick off the week, on
-
- Monday all students must be BEARY kind – all you have to do is hug a friend.
- Tuesday, why don’t you warm someone’s cold heart. Go ahead and tell someone you love them.
- Ha-PEA holidays all students are free to bring canned foods to donate to the food drive on Wednesday.
- Thursday pay someone a compliment and don’t be RUDE-olph.
- Friday, bake a treat for someone sweet and get those seasonal cravings in.
The following week we start off being comfortable and cozy with wearing your pajamas to school.
- Tuesday pay a visit to any staff member and thank them for everything they do for the students and BCHS itself because we all know that Santa’s elves work so hard for the community.
- Wednesday, show your kindness in an act of words and write a letter to St. Judes because there is no time like the PRESENT.
- Thursday, find a friend who brings you holiday cheer and post a s-ELF-ie and be sure to tag the BCHS instagram.
- Of course we can’t forget High Five Friday! When you leave school, be sure to give a high five to Mrs. Wagner!
As we shift into the last week of this amazing tradition, make sure that you are studying for your exams so that you can succeed and don’t forget to invite a friend to watch a holiday movie and BUNDLE up in this cold weather. On the last day of 12 days of Kindness you CANE do this, all students will have the best of luck on their exams.
The reason why BCHS does 12 days of Kindness is because we want to spread that holiday cheer and love before exams.According to Student Body Vice President Xochi Skousen, “we continue this tradition to give a part to everyone in the school and to make everyone feel included even if it’s a small act of kindness. During the holiday season some people tend to feel sad or alone and some people aren’t as fortunate as others to have special connection with others so we as a community show large or small acts of kindness to everyone.” We hope to see you all participating in this year’s 12 days of Kindness.
